Why use Reusable Technical Textile?
In recent years, the quality of materials for sterile dressing and covering in operating rooms has become ever more important in minimizing the risk of infection. One solution has been to design and produce complete surgical kits for operating rooms in Reusable Technical Textile (TTR), which provides an effective barrier for patients and the surgical team against the potential spread of infections.
Guaranteed Performance
Continuous quality tests are carried out on the materials used in the manufacture of our surgical gowns and drapes so that they maintain the conditions required by applicable legislation throughout their entire life cycle. Our products, suitably treated and processed, easily reach and exceed 80 cycles of industrial washing and sterilization and provide for:
- A barrier against pathogenic microorganism and virus penetration
- Liquid impermeability
- High absorption
- Anti-static protection
- Negligible particle release
- Comfort and breathability
- Extremely high resistance to breakage and tearing
- Environmental sustainability
Protection and Reliability
TTR products for operating rooms, such as surgical gowns, drapes and clean air barriers, maintain aseptic conditions throughout surgical procedures, thus reducing the incidence of post-operative infections.
All our operating gowns and drapes comply with the requirements of European Directive 93/42/EEC and Standard EN13795 concerning Medical Devices and American Standard AAMI PB 70.
Sustainability
TTR products respect the environment because they can be reused and, at the end of their life-cycle, can be recycled for alternative uses. Traditional cotton or natural fibre systems have now been almost entirely replaced by technical textile systems.
Comfort and Practicality
Thanks to the special membrane quality of the textile, which can be supplied in PTFE or polyurethane according to customer requirements, the surgical team can enjoy the maximum breathability of the products, especially in cases of lengthy operating procedures.
Surgical Gowns
Surgical gowns must provide the surgical team with maximum protection and safety. In addition to such safety requirements, there is a need for the gowns to be breathable and unrestrictive in order to give maximum comfort to those using them.
The protective barrier gown is available with a two-component PTFE or PU membrane. We want to give you the option to create the best combination of membrane and technical wear in a trilaminate optimized for your needs, with latest generation micro-fibre ensuring an outstanding relation between comfort and performance.
Surgical Drapes
The patient’s covering must be perfectly drapable, water-proof, but, at the same time, vapour permeable (in order to ensure the body’s natural and necessary transpiration), have good absorbency, create a safe and effective barrier against bacterial penetration and have minimal particle release. Our trilaminate optimally combines these requirements, especially with regard to the absorption of liquids, which makes this trilaminate specifically adapted and highly performing for the production of drapes and surgical sets.
